Hmmm ... while working on a proposal to the Colonies' equivalent of the
Ministry of Defence for my employer, we were all in a big conference
room, carpet on the walls, and proposal pages and graphics hanging all
over them. The presentation was to be made at Robins AFB in Georgia.
One of the younger guys who was going on that trip had never been out of
California and asked me about Georgia, especially the food. I told him
I really liked going to Georgia. People were friendly, they talked
slowly which really helped me with my crummy hearing, and the food was
really good. Summer was great because I'd become addicted to warm,
humid weather in SE Asia. "I think, however, there are really only two
major food groups there ... fried and BBQ." He didn't believe me.

As the team was doing the final planning for the trip, one of the
Georgia guys named a place they had to stay at because, "It's next to a
restaurant that serves the best fried cheesecake in all of middle
Georgia." The young guy looked at me, and I said, "I rest my case."

I've had the fried cheesecake, it's great!'

I think I understand the physics of a two-sided cricket bat. I still
want to know what a one-sided cricket bat looks like, particularly the
cross-section.

I am impressed with the SOC-ness of the cricket bat thread [it's really
more like a "rope" now]. All those quoted messages make for a really
nice array of vertical lines down the left side, and all the reminders
from the SOC reflector that are preserved are really nice reminders
given that my memory has ... nuts! forgot what my memory has
done. Oh yes, carpet on the walls -- so we could pin up pages on the
walls. Well, that's what the white-coated staff told us.
