Congratulations America

You are about to inaugurate your 44th President.

I've thought long and hard before making this post, not just because 
it's so blatantly OT but, for me and so many others world wide, we are 
not only witnessing history but hopefully significant changes. Hope 
hangs in the air.

I do not want this issue to degenerate into partisan politics. To do 
so you will demean yourself.

While most democracies around the world don't do your weird jazz of 
years to select candidates, then months to hold an election and 
literally weeks for the successful candidate to actually take office 
you actually did finally arrive here.

We the world are grateful, we the world are extremely hopeful.

Tomorrow significantly puts me in mind, yet once again, to the very 
same day in 1961 when this then 18 year old kid saw "hope", saw the 
promise of a better world. As us kids living under the fear of nuclear 
warfare this promised a "very real" change and of genuine hope.

Sadly, a relative short time later this golden future was terminated 
by the trash of the planet.

Please vow, never again will decency and hope be over run by filth.
