Enough already! It's always been difficult to join SOC. You have to meet the
equirements. And the requirement is to sign up on the website no matter how
onfusing the site may be. That's the way I did it and everyone else should have
o do it the same way. Well, I must confess I did need some help from one or
wo of the SOC head honchos who finally gave up trying to explain how to do it
n a long series of private email messages. They were the ones who kindly put me
n the roster manually instead of my use of the website procedure.
Let's not get all politically correct and try to dumb down SOC. We've already
ad enough of that in ham radio.
Best regards,

: but if the website merely said what the user should do
 instead of having a
: button run a java script that assumes a user mail client
 then we would not
: be having this discussion. I know, I know, this would be
 too simple so it
: probably has no business being discussed here at all.
 Shame on me and my
 : ways.

I think perhaps an extensively descriptive paragraph above
 AND below said
non-button explaining its intent may be of value.
 And, of course, some
flashy arrows with text within them explaining to not click
 on the arrows,
but the non-button word to the left or right of the
 appropriate arrow,
explaining that it's just as good as a button, even thought
 it might not be.
The buttons should be hot pink with sky blue text that
 flash alternately at
about 5 Hz to get the SOC's attention.
