First I apologize for the multiple posts, not sure why?
2nd.  Your friend has consented to belonging to SOC, that being, we do extend beyond our relm at times.
I raised 3 sons who are now in the 30's and 40's, and doing very well in their place in life with sons and daughters and wonderful wives.
My sons were taught manners, being respectful of their elders and to treat everyone as they would wanted to be treated themselves.  My sons were also taught to be men, and like alot of men here on SOC, we know a dirty word when we hear one, fart is hardly in that catagory. If your friends youngman can get on a computer and read the word "fart" in a SOC posts, I am sure he has gone elsewhere on the internet without his parents knowledge and read and or seen much more.
If you want me to unscribe, I would be happy to do so, otherwise keep the little tike away from your SOC computer.  In ending, I have always enjoyed reading the SOC posts, sad may it be but I don't expect much in the radio, techno department here, I can go to the Ten Tec or K-3 site and get my fill of that.  SOC is good for ham radio, and if you were to do a average age list of the SOC members, I'll bet there are alot of false teeth bunch will be found here. Respectfully yours, Rich K8UV

At the risk of almost certain criticism:

Following the extended threads on beer and flatulism, I received a
private e-mail from one of our members reminding me that we have
youthful readers of our reflector posts.  In his case, he was assisting
a ten year old in obtaining his ham license.  His trainee needed access
to his computer as part of his training - which also took him to the
various ham lists including SOC.  Besides him, others of us probably
have young sons and daughters who easily migrate to our website.

All I'm suggesting is that we think before we post with the realization
that our youth are also likely to read our material.  SOC is after all a
group of hams with a reflector to share their second class ideas.  Maybe
we could attempt to make more of them radio related?  There are many
joke lists available - in fact I've read much of the material posted
here on other sites.
