[SOC] Electric Fence

Yes, I too use poly wire but most of my wire is high tensil and in the middle a lot of aluminum. I turn the fence off most of the time, especially in the winter, the animals are very shy of the fence once they get use to it.  My Ten Tec gear have USLESS noise blankers, know what you mean. OK on the poor dentist, got some of his own medicine and it was pay back time...Hi Hi. 73 Rich K8UV

But anyway, I don't think we would tell the difference between the two anyway.  If it burns the weeds and grass that grow up to reach the charged wire, it sure will do everything you described that happened to you. I like you now have a healthy respect for that charged wire, glad you surveyed. 73 Rich K8UV

Hi Rich,

Nope the story is NOT about me, it was from a dentist
down in the Arkansas/Texas/Oklahoma corner of the
world.

I live on a cattle farm in Missouri, we use 25 mile fence
chargers, and pay a lot of attention to splices and the
electric gate connections so it does not wipe out
the HF radio. Switched over to the new poly electric
fence wire, wow, this is great stuff and makes great
portable lightweight antennas.
