I can attest to the fact that this is a fun event for non-members, and
also that all members that I've come across do have good sense of humor.
Last year, I participated as W1SOC, one of three club calls of the
Second Class Operator's Club. Since some members do hold WxFOC club
calls, I would bet that several did check out my call and ID'd me with
the other club. But nobody that I worked (and I later received a
certificate for the most FOC members worked by a non-member) gave me any
unkind words. I also received several "hi hi"'s when my call was
recognized. These are truly a fine bunch of "first class" operators and
I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the event. But I am also very
proud of my "second classness". :-)
