Wow, you're either really young or not from the US :)
Alan Funt was the host of a 1960's/1970's show called "Candid Camera".
It featured unsuspecting victims of practical jokes all caught on a
hidden camera. After the joke was done, each victim would be told
"Smile, you're on Candid Camera!"
