OK, "really obscure trivia." With the appearance of the first stable
spot of Cycle 24, we can all hope that we actually will have a cycle and
not go into a prolonged minimum like the Maunder Minimum [~1645 ~1715].
1666 marked one of the really deep minimums within that period. The
maximums in that period weren't any better than we've been seeing for
the last year or so. DX was really thin then :-)
If you like trivia, see if you can figure out what else is unique about
the year 1666? [Using wikipedia will result in immediate
disqualification].
