[SOC] Sprint rules help needed

OK, I'm going to try this contest stuff again.  Last time I called and
called and just got no answer.  So I broke down and sneaked a peek at the
rules.  I didn't do that last time because I thought that might cause me to
be rejected from the group...so I'm sticking my neck out here admitting it.

Now I'm worried that this is some law breaker group or something cause I see
you guys were all way down the band annoying the guys on CW and I just know
SOC guys must be SSBers or something.

OK, I'm going to take off my left shoe and see if I can manage a contact
down there.  Don't be surprised if I ask for repeats because I'm tone deaf
and CW only has one tone.  Now, where did I put my crayon.

Here is my question.  I see you get extra points for a home brew paddle.  I
was going to tack a paperclip to a board and make a straight key.  Does that
count as a home brew paddle?  Would it help if I used it sideways?  What if
the board is a ping pong paddle, would that count?
