And, I'm so suprised ... no one has mentioned the "Beer Can Vertical."
My teen friends and I built several -- Dads' drank the beer of course.
Actually, we were at that young age when beer didn't taste good and we
counted on our Dads. That age would pass, of course ... and has :-)
I remember soldering the steel cans together. The design even appeared
in CQ Magazine, I think.
Yes, I used a Miller HighLife bottle at the bottom of my 40m vertical.
"The Champagne of Bottled Beers" I think it said. My Dad and the
neighbor Howard loved it. Mom had other opinions of that. Antenna
never worked well. Thanks Mom.
