[SOC] Looking for Heavy Duty Soldering Iron

I was going to change the subject slightly to mention that the guns
that look like a thin slim gun have a very good reputation.  I've used
them and they work well but I've never had one.  A friend said to me
that he's used them on AC of 110 vac and 220 vac and perhaps 110
VDC.but I can't find that specification.

It does say that it is temperature controlled - and it says designed
for electronics - which probably means (it is coming back to me..)
that the tip is grounded.

Sounds like a really good iron/gun - now I remember that I recalled my
friend's recommendation, and then I bought the "other" one because the
one you mention is the most expensive!  Even more than the 300 watt
gun.

Of course I did not get even the 300 watt gun - I thought all guns were equal.

Well, I did the cheap thing again and then had to buy a better oen -
when if I had just listened to old "Double D" and bought the good one,
I'd be scads of dollars ahead.

Cheap - it seldom pays to go on the cheap.

At least go Second Class - not Steerage (or Swinage).

Oink! Oink!  They don't call us hams for nothing!  The problem is that
pigs are smart, and us hams can be really stupid when it comes to the
cheap problem!

Is there a 12 step program for Ham Cheapies?
