[SOC] Looking for Heavy Duty Soldering Iron

Hi Tom,

You need a massive tip to hold the heat and a good heat supply.
Stained glass supply stores and hardware stores often have irons you
can heat in the gas burner on the stove top.

Also Cooper Tools Weller Division makes the SP175 which is called the
Marksman(r) Iron (175 Watt)

Also they make soldering guns D650 is the one you want - it is 300
watts on high - and 200 watts on low.

I used to use a big black iron - it must have been just 175 wats or so
but it was good.  I bought a 140 watt soldering gun - it was useless.

The biggest gun is the way to go.

Someone mentioned a GT-1 model but I don't see it listed - which model
is the closest current model?
