Hey, we're not sloppy.  We're just efficient.
   
  We use the word armor, but the Brits use armour and pronounce every letter.  I won't even start on aluminum.
   
  Now the French, on the other hand, stick a lot of beautiful vowels on a word and never use them.  Terrible waste.
