Mike - I have a JPS NIR-12 DSP filter/noise reducer, etc. They don't
make them anymore, but putting it on the back of my TS140S really made a
new rig out of it. It'll pull signals out of the mud and even with the
front end on this thing, it enables me to work folks up under strong
signals in things like 160m CW contests. If you can find one of these
used or something that someone says is as good and does not ring, grab
it. I tend to use this with a lightweight Kenwood headset, (HS-6), but
it works well with the big honking automotive speaker I got at a hamfest
somewhere and have sitting on the table next to the rig for general
listening. (Anyone hear what was sent before "the monkey" in King Kong
as the ship approaches the island? I wasn't quite fast enough.) Ciao 73
