For any who might be too young to remember the classic Li'l Abner comic 
strip, go to www.lil-abner.com , which includes a history of Joe Btfsplk, 
among other characters. No other comic strip, with the possible exception of 
Peanuts, had anywhere near the impact of Li'l Abner on American pop culture.
