[SOC] AA Rechargeable Battery Question

Hi Gang,
  I have a question regarding some AA NiCads that I have.  Basically I'm
looking to see if they are god or not.  Can anyone tell me a simple way to
test them to see if they are holding their charge, more or less, as they
should?

 They are Powerex 2500 ma (I have 8 of them) and I've been recharging them
with a MAHA model MH-C777Plus.

Also, in the event that they need replacing can anyone steer me to what I
should look at. (I use them for general purpose, e.g. cameras, general
coverage radios, like that)   I paid about $4.00 per battery (which included
s/h) and they were very adequate when they were new.
