I lived in Houston one year.  I was on the wet side of a stalled 
hurricane.  It rained for 30 days straight.  Not just rain but fill the 
streets until the Mercedes started to float kind of rain.  It was 
something for this Midwestern boy to behold.  I also saw not one but over 
a dozen tornados in a wall.  I decided I should find somewhere inside a 
really strong structure to sit that one out.  Hurricanes are one thing, 
tornados are something I was used to and understood.  Run, hide, cover 
your head, it will pass or else you won't be around to worry about it any 
longer ;)
