Thanks, Mate.  And thanks to the other vets.

I don't do much daytime ragchewing these days, but when I encounter somebody
from the ancient codger generation (as distinct from  the mere old geezer
generation), I ask if he is WW2 vet and then thank him for his service.
This sometimes elicits an interesting story.  If you really want to a
thrill, thank a Russky with a personal call R1,R2,R3...where the prefix is
reserved for WW2 vets.  You may get back something like "radio op
Stalingrad" or "Kursk" from a proud old survivor.  It's humbling.
