A note:  I posted this on the AMSAT BB, thinking some of those guys
would get a good laugh.  I got one reply from someone whose sense of
humor shone with all the gleam of a black hole. Shall we nominate him

I heard a good one last night, whilst in the pub (bar for our US
friends).

Bloke describing his latest girlfriend to his friend:

Bloke: Yes I met her the other day, she's OK.
Friend: Oh, I heard that she's that ugly, she gets fed with a catapult!
