Jim in Raymore, MO is absolutely right. Only
mechanical devices such as J-38's can be connected to
your transmitter to qualify for SOC membership. No
TNC's, Sound Cards, Computers, Hi-Tech chainsaws!
I have WAS using PSK-31 but I modified an ASR-33
teletype to transmit PSK manually. Unfortunately
it is 50 Khz wide and I run 1500 watts PSK so I sure I
have worked many PSK'ers that
I know nothing about. I received my WAS cert from the
ARRL but it
caught on fire and burned up when I left it on top of
my amp.
