[SOC] You can't beat a bit of bush

I'm surprised the "storm troopers" lining the streets didn't raise an arm
and shut "Heil!" when he passed!
With all the legislation they have passed and want to pass, they might
as well tear up the Constitution! It's a "no-no!" to harrass the suspect
terrorists, but the cops just kill suspects over here because they "thought
he was armed" or some such excuse. No one does anything about it either.
(really).
I used to work on an awful lot of British ships for Marconi Marine, and
after some incident a few years back, a British 2nd Mate once remarked:
"You Yank chaps started a war with us some time ago about the same
stuff happening!". I will never forget that statement. He was "ribbing"
me of course! I got along great with 99.9% of them and always enjoyed
trips to the U.K.

| Very odd watching President Bush's coronation from this side of the pond.
|
| No political point here...
|
| but the equivalent ceremony in the UK consists of the new (or old) Prime
| Minister being filmed climbing out of a black Jaguar, late at night,
| outside No.10 Downing Street, walking up to a hastily-erected podium, well
| festooned in microphones, and then delivering a 'speech' of no more than 60
| seconds duration.
|
| He is then expected to say 'thank you', go inside No.10 and get on with it.
|
| Should we 'crown' an elected public official, or are we missing something?
