The story as I remember it (keep in mind that I am SOC #1, and also a 
well qualified old fart - so my story
could be far from fact):

When we first started SOC, Erv volunteered to design, print, and mail 
certificates - which he did for a short time.
Then Erv made a major career move along with a physical move.  He became 
totally involved with job and
didn't have time to continue with the certificates.  I believe he did 
try to find the original design in the many
storage boxes used for his move - but couldn't.  The design on the 
website should be close to the certificates
that Erv was printing and mailing.

Perhaps someone else with minimal proficiency at designing graphics 
would volunteer to take up the task?
The pay is not good ($0), but persons requesting certificates would be 
required to at least cover costs and mailing...
