Ah, the English language!!!  What a pleasure it can be.

We were sitting in a camper (RV) a few summers back with some English 
football (soccer) coaches (18-22 year-olds) visiting for a training camp.  
One of the American (lady) camp directors walked in and with her hands on 
her waist asked, "Would one of you grab my Fanny Pack!"  The look of 
astonishment on the lads' faces were priceless.  After rolling on the floor 
for nearly twenty minutes and with tears in their eyes they finally got up 
the nerve and told the director what she had asked them to do.  The Yanks 
would recognize this as a Hip Sack typically used for day hikes and the 
like.  The English coaches, however, were thinking of something a little 
further south!
