Yes it does. When we lived in the hills above Tucson, Arizona, my wife
and I used to walk along the roads in the neighborhood quite a bit.
Occasionally we would see a bobcat and steer clear of them. However
once my wife saw a good-sized one (about 50-60 pounds) approaching and
crossed the road to pass on the other side. The bobcat immediately
crossed the road also. She stopped taking walks after that.
We also had rattlesnakes, coyotes and great horned owls. There weren't
any stray dogs or cats, however....
