It varies. Cricket grounds come in all shapes and sizes. The rules of
cricket dictate that the captains of the opposing teams agree before the
match how many runs should be awarded for balls reaching the boundary with
or without bouncing.
Convention has it that it's four with a bounce and six without. There is one
ground with a substantial oak tree off to one side but within the boundary
and the captains generally agree that it's five runs if the ball hits it
without bouncing.
