Subject: [cq-l] May 3 Filing Deadline Set for BPL NPRM
=A0
>From the CQ Newsroom...
The FCC's Notice of Proposed Rule Making on BPL (Broadband over Power =
Lines) -- ET Docket 03-104 -- has been published in the Federal =
Register, which starts the clock on the comment deadline. Comments are =
due by May 3, with reply comments due by June 1.=20
Comments may be filed electronically via the FCC's Electronic Comment =
Filing System at <http://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/ecfs/Upload/>.
Information on BPL and its potential impact on hams and other HF =
spectrum users is available on the ARRL website and in the "VHF-Plus" =
column of the April issue of CQ magazine. In addition, the May issue of =
CQ and the spring issue of CQ VHF will have extensive coverage of the =
issues, the specifics of the NPRM and what to listen for in terms of BPL =
interference on the ham bands. The May issue of CQ should be in =
subscribers' mailboxes and on newsstands 1-2 weeks prior to the filing =
deadline.=20
In addition, check the CQ and CQ VHF websites =
(<http://www.cq-amateur-radio.com> and <http://www.cq-vhf.com>, =
respectively) for additional information which we expect to post in the =
next several days.=20
73,
The editors
