How SOC !    No pictures or anything resembling any crystals I have used 
over the years

Two proven methods used to identify crystals:  

Apply excessive voltage across leads, after case smells funny, the 
crystal is broken.

Plus unknown value crystal face up (number up) on table, hold magnifying 
glass about six inches from case.  Hit case with standard hammer. -- 
This action tends to flatten markings for easier reading.   Read number 
which identify the crystal.  This crystal is as bad as previous one, in 
several pieces to read and identity to boot.
