One science near and dear to all of us is climatology, yet we know so
little about it. Not only that, but some "experts" have been grabbing at
straws to try forecasting what's going to happen based on why they think
what's happening now is happening. At least the link shows that some
predictions are based on events we know from the genuine past.
There's a lot of interesting stuff happening right now... Earth's magnetic
field wobbles a bit -- is it preparing for another reversal? We have no
idea at all what that might precipitate (except the fluxgate compass in my
car would have to be rewired). Sunspot activity is more intense than ever
before observed, and we know that periods like this in the past were
extremely warm. Yes, Greenland really was green.... And while terrestrial
icecaps shrink, the icecaps on Mars are receding like crazy. Isn't this an
intersting time to be alive? Wow!
