Reminds me of my daughter's mongrel, Barnie..
My daughter in Atlanta moved into an apartment where she was not allowed
to keep animals. Not knowing
any better, I agreed to take her part beagle, Barnie. He was major
trouble from the start, like many dogs, he
actively demonstrated his dislike of being alone. After he promptly
destroyed some of my furniture, I built him
a dog house and kept him in the front yard tied to a tree. Not many
days later, the police were knocking on
my door at 3AM - seemed that Barnie had been barking all night and the
neighbors naturally complained.
Within another day or two, he broke loose from his rope. My next door
neighbors had a habit of leaving
their front door ajar. Barnie, of course, found that open door in the
middle of the night, made himself welcome,
and ate the neighbor's couch. Next day, we make a trip to the pound...
