Hi All,
This made me laugh.
Just about my first job in electronics was working for a company
making burglar alarms in the early seventies when I was about 16.
Part of the job involved etching PCBs and I had to make up the
etchant.
We had bags of ferric chloride crystals but they tended to clump so I
used an old HP12 battery (12V primary battery about the size of a large
brick) as a hammer to smash up the bigger bits.
The senior engineer wandered past whilst I was doing this and simply
commented, "Watch it or you'll find yourself in court for "Assault and
battery"."
Paul ;-)
