That reminds me of...., not really, but I needed an intro.

Johnathan and Jacob, two Puritans, were overly fond of playing chesss. 
They played it as often as possible.

This, of course, angered the town elders who felt that chess was the
work of the devil and a frivolous game, and all games were frivolous.
Finally, they had had enough, and ordered the two to be burned at the
stake.

That night, after the fire was lit around Johnathan and Jacob, one of
the elders thought he heard singing coming from the flames.  Listening
carefully, he heard........

"Chess Nuts roasting on an open fire....."

If anyone wishes, they can pawn this one off.
