Agreed.  The rights and wrongs of invading in the first place will be
debated for a long time by minds far finer than mine, and I will offer no
opinion here.

Being realistic, I think that it would be very optimistic to believe that we
are going to create an Arab 'Camelot'.

But, It would be an act of sheer cowardice to just pack up and leave now,
and let the place, and its people, fall into hell.

We Brits have made this mistake before - in Palestine/Israel among other
places - to the long-term detriment of the world in general, and Manhattan
in particular.
