Someone sent me an off-grouper. I've really upset someone, and here's
the apology.

If I were a yank, I would be a democrat, and a pretty radical one at
that, but in view of the illness that he suffers from, I would not (as a
human being) like people to think that I wanted to pour scorn on former
president Ronald Reagan, (as he is now) and hope that nobody else took
it that way.

Politically, I am diagonally-opposite to/from him, but there is a limit
to what you can feel hatred for.  Especially as he can no longer
remember even having ever been the president.

In the same way, during her 'reign' (and as a directly-targetted
'victim' of her policies), I would actually have welcomed any
misfortune - terminal or otherwise - that befell our former prime
minister Margaret Thatcher, but she is now a sad, bereaved, rather
muddled and fragile old lady, and you can only carry things so far.

Once again, sorry if I upset anybody with the careless use of my rather
'black' sense of humour.
