My wife and I flew out on May 20th from Baltimore. When we arrived in Honolulu, I discovered that my Toshiba digital camera was missing from my suitcase. There was no indication that TSA personnel had searched my luggage--no indication, that is, except for the missing camera. Following a recent business trip, my wife found that a couple of her possessions--value about $55--were missing from her suitcase. It appears that all this luggage searching has opened the door to a lot of theft. Take care when you travel.

Too bad that as Americans (traveling inside the United States) we must
trust the folks that we have "working" airport security for our
protection, stealing from the passengers that they are paid as federal
employees to protect. I would suggest contacting your elected
representatives (they travel by airlines too) and remind them of your
losses, and see what they recommend you do to prevent additional theft
in the future. (although they probably ride in commuter limousines to
your district rather than fly out from Washington DC to Baltimore) I
know about Baltimore, Maryland and their reputation as thieves. Can you
say, "Art Modell and certain NFL team franchise rights?"
