These days the easiest way is to use something like an MFJ antenna analyzer. This can give you the real and reactive components of the antenna (within a certain range). In the "good old days" you could use a noise bridge to the same thing. You can pick up a used noise bridge for $10-$15 if you shop around. But if you're going to do much of this type of work, an MFJ 259 or something like it will pay for itself in time and frustration saved.
