[SOC] The Great British Morse Key Famine

Hmmm...well,
Apparently, Hi-mound make two complete ranges of morse keys.
See www.morsex.com , look at the hi-mound keys and you'll see what I mean.
It seems you yanks all like a low-profile key with a flat button ('cos you
all send morse with your elbow on the table).
They also make a range of more 'sit-up-and-beg' keys with knobs for us
Brits, ('cos we all send with the key near the edge of the desk, with elbow
in free space. Is this true?.
Having your elbow on the table does seem the height of bad manners :-)
What I don't understand is why the British Army has suddenly rediscovered
morse code?. Maybe the ragheads can't read it, as they have a different
alphabet.
Anyone know?.
I was trying to by the HK-709 (the Brit version has the plastic dust cover
for some reason), but it seems there is a waiting list, and I'll have to
order one.

Hello Chris:

How does one get one of these?

"Then the British Army suddenly cleaned-out their stock of high-action
lightweight
Hi-Mounds (to the tune of 100 keys) and sent them all out to the Gulf!."

Regards
Bill Harris
