Dave, I'm never sure of anything. Whatever I say is subject to change upon
review of previously unseen data. So if my sureness is what pleases you,
please accept my full permission to become unpleased. Based on everything
I've ever been able to dig up on the topic, the US Government was not
feeding the IRA any funds or weapons. If anyone has any information to the
contrary that's other than speculative, I'd appreciate seeing it.
Yes, Ollie North means something to me. He's the former Lt. Colonel who
told Senator Al Gore around ten years ago that he thought Osama Bin Laden
should be assassinated. (North was told that we don't do things that way.)
He also was accused of involvement in shady underground dealings such as
arms for hostages and dealings with the "outs" in Nicaragua. Again, if you
have anything other than speculation that he was funneling cash or weapons
to the IRA, I'd really appreciate seeing that.
