[SOC] K1 resistor: aberration or mod?

Looking at the insides of my trusty K1, the one
with the probable faulty phone jack, which was built
not by me, but is nonetheless filled, and very
cleverly, too, with a beautiful assortment of small
parts, stunningly arranged, it was hard not to notice
that one skinny leg of the part R36 - the one on the
RF board, by the antenna - was sticking decidedly into
the air and not, as might be expected, snugly soldered
to its special hole on the board, the one still filled
with the solder left behind when it was, seemingly,
purposefully removed from the board, and it led me to
wonder what it might mean for the performance of the
rig, and how or why it might have gotten that way.

   Any ideas?
