Mike,
FWIW, probably not much, I switched from a straight
key to paddles and an iambic keyer last March, when I
returned to the hobby. Why? At speeds over about 15
wpm, my arm, which seemed to really be in use from the
elbow down while sending, would be about to drop off
after a short bit. I started with a HD 1410, but now
use rigs with built-in keyers and a nice, heavy,
chrome set of paddles. I can chat for hours at 25 wpm
with zero fatigue. I can use a straight key ok, but
don't want to bother. I'm not sure why you do!
