A Croat gives birth to twins of different fathers 
ZAGREB (AFP), 13-01-2003 
A young student of Zagreb gave birth seven months ago to twins having two 
different fathers, according to genetic tests' carried out thereafter. 
"My boys have two different fathers", declared Jutarnji Listla, only identified 
by her initial M.B., by explaining that her twins had been "created" at the 
time of a fete sprinkled with "much wine". 
After their birth, she had undertaken to carry out tests of paternity, with the 
supposed father. But the analyses of ADN showed that only one of the twins was 
his son. The two fathers agreed to pour an alimony with the twins, but only one 
of them regularly returns visit to his son, the other refusing any contact with 
the mother and the child. 
A juridical expert for questions of paternity, Dr. Andrija Kastelan, explained 
to the daily newspaper that in the two-thirds of the cases the twins come from 
two different ovules. He stressed that the professional publications mention 
only one ten cases similar to that of Mrs. M.B, when during the same cycle, two 
ovules are fertilized by the sperm of two different men.
