In OZ we pay around [it varies hourly - literally] 98c a litre, that's about
$A4.45 a UK gallon and using your conversion factor something like $A6.60 a US
gallon.

BUT - allowing for exchange rates:

$A4.45 a UK gallon really equals around $UK 1.55 and;
$A6.60 a US gallon really equals around $US 3.85

Work that out! I think I got it right.

Smokes [not discounted] come out at around $A 10.00 for a pack of 25, that's UK
$3.50 and $US 5.80 [all 80% of that is tax]

Beer at my local club costs me $A 2.10 a schooner [375 mL] What do you pay in
the UK and USA?

Packaged beer of the same kind, "Fosters Lite Ice" comes to $A 1.00 per bottle
[375 mL] in a pack of 24.

A 750 mL bottle of Brandy is $A 24.00, same size Jameson's Irish Whisky $A 35.00
and I think Kentucky Bourbon is about $A 28.00
