(intended ! Of course ;o)
Et vous fait rire ... ;op
Reminds me a joke from our beloved SK Coluche (French humorist. Pliz,
refer to your archives to find out my last explanation abt this
guy) :
That's the story of an elephant in the jungle. He is approaching a
river to drink. So he puts one leg into the water, he puts 2 legs into
the water, he puts his trunk into the water and then a crocodile
approaches the elephant and bites the elephant's trunk.
And then the elephant says (with the voice of someone having a
stuffed-up nose): "Et vous fait rire ?" ("And that makes you laugh
?")
That is the "background story". Then, starts the real story :
A couple is visiting an other one for dinner and evening party. And
you all know how it is when you are visiting friends not seen from
long :
- hey, how are you doing ?
- well, and you, how are you doing ?
- vy well, and what abt you ?
a.s.o. ... quite boring. Hopefully you have heard some joke yesterday
and that will save you.
So, the visiting guy [i.e. you] starts his joke :
That's the story of an elephant in the jungle. (...see above...)
and then a crocodile approaches the elephant and ...
And then, the lady of the house enters the hall, coming from the
kitchen. The poor lady is carrying a clafoutis [cake] and has a hare-lip...
And she asks (with "of course", the voice of someone having stuffed-up
nose) : "Qui sait qui veut de mon clafoutis ?" ("Who of you want of my
clafoutis ?")
But of course nobody cares, waiting for the end of the joke :
[your friends] - go on , go on ...
[you] - and then ....arrghhh ... and then ...
[your friends] - and then what ??...
[you] - and then (you have to find an end anyway !), and then the
crocodile bites the tail of the elephant !
And then the lady of the house says : "Et vous faire rire ?"

Oh well ... French humour ;o) And of course funnier if heard and not
read (intonation & voices).
