0600Z/0700LT : Temp was -06C/20F by 0500Z.
Cars driving slowly on icy roads.

Radio news report 127 km/79 mi traffic jam around Paris yesterday.
Not a record, we can do much better. We have done up to 200+km/125mi.
That was some years ago, a wonderful day, combining snow + public
transport strike ;o)) That WAS "fun" !
My usual transport time (one way) is 1h30. It took me about 3h that
day (I have been vy lucky with this transport strike) to come back
from office. My colleagues, using cars, have taken up to 10 (ten)
hours to do the same distance to mine (iso 45min/1h normaly).
Next morning, offices were rather empty ...

<NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT>

Assuming that yesterday the snow storm has started at about 1030Z,
1130LT; we can think that people who had not yet left their holiday
location would have taken into account the WX reports.

0600LT news on radio : a lot of Holidayers have spent the night in
their cars. Ok, I am sorry for them.
BUT, example given : (I quote):

"We have left Britany towards Paris yesterday by 1600 LT. We have made
5 km/3mi in about 5 hours, and we are blocked here since 2100LT
yesterday, not moving at all anymore. It is 0545LT, we have spent the
night in the car, it is really unpleasant and nobody [i.e. the public
services] does not do nothing to clean the highway".
(end of quote)

Where's my gun ? WHERE IS MY GUN ?
By 1600 LT yesterday, the snow has stopped falling for long time,
Northern France was under 10+cm/4+inches snow.
As the saying states, as soon as someone puts his/her legs in a car,
his/her last neurone immediately switches off.
