I apologize about my umbrage over the use of redneck.  I guess it has become
a more benign term than it originally waw.

My dogs are a first line defense.  And yes, as all defense devices, they are
not foolproof.  That is why I own a firearm and ultimately rely on myself.

I do believe I can tell the difference between a Ham rig and a firearm.  The
reason I carry a Ham rig in public is (1) I dont and wont own a cell phone
and (2) I live in an area, eg, San Francisco Bay Area, subject to seismic
events.
