When I was running Windows, I used Mailwasher, which was OK, but required 
manual intervention. In Linux, I am using Spamassassin, and it is, as they 
say, AWESOME! I only see at the most 1 or 2 pieces of spam that sneak through 
daily. The rest are either dumped altogether, if they are unquestionably 
spam, or put in a "probably-spam" file for me to look at. I have found only 2 
"good" messages that went to "probably-spam" in the past 4 months.

I think spamassassin has a port to windows. check out 
http://www.spamassassin.org.

Did I mention it's FREE?
