Yes, this was amazing. It was also totally ignorant of the library to
suggest that moslems would be offended by images of Christmas.
As I type this I have in front of me a Christmas card given to me by a work
colleague called Zaineb, who is a sunni moslem.
It is an expensive, gold-edged, rather 'Romanesque' card with a very
classical painting of the heavily-pregnant Mary riding a donkey to
Bethlehem, led by Joseph on foot.
Or, as Zaineb would say, Yussef leading the donkey carrying his wife Mariam
to Bethlehem, where she will give birth to the prophet Isa (may the peace of
Allah be upon him).
You see, the image is equally sacred to both Christians and Moslems.
Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year to all SOCers.
