Neither, of course, satisfactorily emulates the OLD Mars bar; which was
flatter, had a greater surface area, and contained several toasted whole
almonds under that top chocolate layer. Yum.

Not only that, but either Mars Bar (UK or US type) is 'way more than 1/75
of a Moon Pie.

For the benefit of those who have never been within twelve thousand
furlongs of Chattanooga, Tennessee (sole area of manufacture): a Moon Pie
is a somewhat delightful confection which consists of a marshmallow of
somewhat less than 10 cm diameter sandwiched between two flaky, rather dry
vanilla pastry discs, with the whole thing covered by chocolate, in the
style of a candy bar. Strange that when I was a kid, I never cared for
them. But when I reached the age of 45 or so, the darn things began to
appeal to me amazingly. Thank God they can be bought in California. Of
course, you might have heard that almost anything might be bought in
California, not to the exclusion of politicians.

Newspaper in my area had an editorial cartoon yesterday -- Uncle Sam
talking to an Iraqi: "First, well get your power grid working, then we'll
show you how we hold an election>" Iraqi's delayed reply: "We've suffered
enough."

But I do go on....
