And right you are.  Unfortunately, the currency you will receive is not US
Dollars, Euros, Pounds Sterling, or anything else ordinarily seen.  It is,
rather, in Bhutani Occupation Nguldrum scrip, printed by the Japanese
military in anticipation of the occupation of that country in World War II
(which never happened).  This is the only currency ever known to have
accrued a negative value, which it still enjoys.  If any of these notes are
presented in Bhutan, the memory of those dark days will generally incense
the intended recipients, driving them to demand hard currency in great
amounts immediately from the offeror.  Some have been known to lose their
lives just for displaying any of these unfortunate quasi-banknotes.  Too
bad if you own any.
