Well, I finally found something of an answer on the web.  .  I found a
company offering a 7 KHz model to use if your immediate neighbor had a 10
KHz model.  They implied that 10 KHz was more or less a standard.  Nothing
said about a wide open receiver, tho.  With attic antenna, I had a fun time
with XYL's touch lamp. My guess is that enough RF would trigger a zap, but
it isn't likely because there isn't enough wire in the collar fixture.  You
wouldn't use one if the dog were on a long chain.
