Are there any Hittites subscribed or likely to subscribe?  Good, because
they are an extinct race and nation.

Forthwith, let's confine or reconfigure our national/ethnic humor to Hittite
jokes.  Any genuine humor will translate easily, but rancor will not. If the
humor is lost in the translation, it ain't worth sending.

As I understand SOC, a major purpose is to poke fun at our own foibles and
not to pick on others (beyond limited good natured teasing that doesn't drag
on).  That can be done with great humor and good will.  If I misunderstand,
please advise and I will adjust my attitude.

Let me close with a reminder.  There are far more lurkers and digest readers
than actual participants in the ML.  We have an audience.  How do we wish to
be seen by others?
